Total mixed mass before pigment.
Percentage of mixed resin mass.
Safety limit used for the warning.
Split pigment evenly between colours.

Why calculate pigment by weight?

A percentage of mass is more repeatable than drops or volume. It makes it much easier to reproduce the colour in the next batch.

When should pigment be limited?

With pastes, metallic pigments and strong opaque colours, too much pigment can slow curing or change surface performance.

What should be saved with the project?

Save resin mass, pigment percentage, pigment manufacturer and colour. That small note protects repeatability in production.

How should colour be tested?

Make a small sample with the same resin and similar layer depth. A colour can look very different in a thin sample, deep pour or over a dark background.

FAQ

How much pigment should I add to epoxy?

Many projects start around 1–3% of mixed mass, but the safe limit depends on both pigment and resin.

Can pigment change curing time?

Yes, especially at high dosage or with incompatible pigment pastes and metallics.

Should colourant be calculated before or after A+B?

Calculate and mix A+B according to the TDS first, then calculate pigment as a percentage of that mix unless the manufacturer says otherwise.
