Odie's / Oil / wax / matte / satin
Finish card with coating type, sheen, application method, epoxy compatibility and working notes from the NeuroResin database.
Odie's Natural Oil Wax Food Safe is a oil / wax system in the Oil / wax family. It offers a matte / satin finish, is positioned as premium, and has a thermal class of light heat. Supporting parameters in the database include UV resistance: no data, hardness: no data and chemical resistance: no data.
When working with Natural Oil Wax Food Safe, match the application method to the surface; the database lists cloth / pad. With 2K oil-wax systems, control mixing, ratio (for example 10:1) and working time (for example around 2 h); after that window, defect risk increases. Work within 10-30 minut windows: after application remove excess with a beige pad, then polish with a white pad; no excess should remain on the surface. On areas with different absorbency, follow the rule: only as much oil as the wood will absorb. Excess can cause tackiness and discoloration.
Odie's Natural Oil Wax Food Safe should be treated as a finish where sheen, substrate compatibility and real use resistance all matter. Epoxy compatibility: wood only. For worktops, tables and high-use parts, test on the same wood, resin and sanding sequence because final sheen, adhesion and resistance depend on the whole system.
In the NeuroResin database, compatibility is marked as: wood only. Still run an adhesion sample on the final resin and sanding profile.
The database lists the sheen as: matte / satin. Real appearance depends on surface preparation, layer count and application method.
Application methods in the database: cloth / pad. Follow the manufacturer TDS, especially for 2K systems and products with pot life limits.
