The key is moving from intuition to measurable volume: dimensions, voids, allowance and only then the right resin system.
If the result is large, do not buy resin immediately — first check maximum layer thickness, pot life and working conditions in the TDS.

How to approach it in practice
Do not rely only on table dimensions. Measure length, average width and planned pour height; for irregular wood, split the shape into simpler sections.
Calculate in centimetres and divide cm³ by 1000. This gives an immediate estimate of mixed A+B resin.
Add reserve for cups, leaks, raw wood, degassing and finishing. Small voids often need a larger percentage allowance than big pours.
Compare the result with the TDS: maximum layer, working temperature, pot life and mixing method. Litres alone do not tell you whether one pour is safe.
If you quote for a client, save volume, assumptions and selected resin in the project card. It makes price changes and production easier.
