About the product

Epodex PRO+ is a deep-cast system for castings and river tables, recorded in the database as a resin for layers up to about 5 cm. It stands out with water-clear premium clarity, high UV resistance described as UV+ stabilizers and a low viscosity of around 350 mPas, which makes it well suited to larger, clear pours. With these parameters, the most important thing is treating the 5 cm limit sensibly: a large mass, a closed mold or heavy pigmenting can raise the temperature at the center of the cast more quickly.

Working with it

It is safest to work at a stable 18-25°C, keep the 2:1 ratio and mix slowly using the two-cup method. The database tips strongly emphasize a seal coat on wood: in river tables most bubbles come from pores, cracks and leaks, not from mixing itself. Metallic pigments, mica and pearl can raise the exotherm by 5-8°C, so for a larger project it is better to test with the final pigment, wood and room temperature.

Summary

This is a good candidate for calm, transparent deep-pour projects when you need time for degassing and do not want to force the reaction. The biggest gain comes from preparation: a sealed mold, primed wood, moderate pigment and dust protection during the long gel time. For light exposure or heavy use, consider an additional PU/UV lacquer, because even high UV resistance does not mean full immunity to sunlight.
