For wood and porous substrates, apply a seal coat before the main pour. The 1.3 cm layer limit should not be treated as extra safety margin when the mass is high, the mold is closed or the workshop is warm. Use the two-cup method: after the first mix, transfer into a second cup and mix again to reduce streaks and soft spots from the cup walls.
TotalBoat ThickSet is best treated as a product for projects where the layer limit, patient degassing and full cure time of 5 days (120 h) matter. Choose a finish according to exposure, abrasion and expected sheen. Before the final pour, make a small sample using the target wood, pigment and workshop temperature.
