Workshop safety

Resin safety

Epoxy work is easier to control when safety is treated as part of the process: protect skin, control ventilation, follow the TDS/SDS and plan the pour to avoid overheating.

PPE

Protect skin and eyes

  • Use nitrile gloves and change them when contaminated.
  • Wear eye protection when mixing, pouring or sanding cured resin.
  • Avoid bare-skin contact with uncured resin and hardener.
Air

Ventilation and dust

Work in a ventilated area and follow the SDS for respiratory protection. Sanding cured resin creates dust, so extraction and a suitable mask matter.

Heat

Control exotherm

Do not exceed the manufacturer layer limit. Large masses of mixed resin can heat quickly, yellow, crack or damage the mold.

Documents

TDS and SDS come first

The calculator supports planning, but the technical and safety data sheets for the selected product remain the primary source.

Before mixing

Prepare PPE, ventilation, scale, containers and a clean work area.

During pour

Keep the batch size, layer thickness and timing under control.

After cure

Treat sanding dust as a separate safety topic.
